TSUEN WAN: INTO
THE LANDSCAPE

With the joint effort of ecological experts and artists, the artworks embark you on an incredible journey to discover the biodiversity at Tai Mo Shan, the highest peak of Hong Kong and the backyard of Tsuen Wan.

Tsuen Wan’s rich biodiversity is astounding!

Tsuen Wan: Into the Landscape by Seika Studio, a Hong Kong art unit, not only depicts the magnificent natural beauty of Tsuen Wan, but also brings alive the local fauna and flora. The mural art allows everyone to experience the wonderful nature right in the middle of the urban setting at Hoi Shing Garden.

Tsuen Wan: Into the Landscape comprises three artworks: Foggy Mountain, Rain and Stream and Light Rays Underwater. With the joint effort of ecological experts and artists, it embarks you on an incredible journey to discover the biodiversity at Tai Mo Shan, the highest peak of Hong Kong and the backyard of Tsuen Wan. Beginning at the foot of the mountain, it takes you to the Tai Shing Stream and ventures deep into the rivers and streams, from afar to up close. The species depicted in the paintings are displayed on an enlarged scale, allowing you to appreciate every detail of the creations.

The works are created using computer graphics, but there is no lack of traditional Chinese painting elements, such as the use of light and heavy strokes to outline texture, sense of space, and dynamics, or the refined brushwork technique “Simao” (絲毛) meaning silky fur, which meticulously depicts the natural texture of bird feather and animal hair. The artworks, which combine traditional and innovative principles, are compatible with vintage and modern aesthetics, striking an unusual balance while vividly embodying the classic Chinese concept of yin and yang.
